MEMBERS of Negros Occidental Provincial Board (PB) are set to hold Wednesday their first regular session in Kabankalan City where a holy mass will also be held for the vigil on the wake of Board Member Macario Zafra Jr.
The mass will be held at 8:30 a.m., said Governor Isidro Zayco.

Zafra died on January 1 at 9:55 a.m. at Kabankalan District Hospital after two and a half years of battling colon cancer.
His wife, Helen, might succeed him as board member of the sixth district, said Zayco. His internment has not yet been scheduled.
On Monday, provincial Election Supervisor Jessie Suarez said that replacing Zafra's post is either by rule of succession or party nomination.
Zafra filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) despite his weak condition, believing and determined that he could still serve his constituents. He belonged to the Nationalist People's Coalition (NPC) for his national party and United Negros Alliance (UNA) for the local ticket.
Zafra spent his boyhood and school life in Kabankalan City until he assumed post as town councilor in 1988 of the Municipality of Ilog, and later elected as board member and had been in government service for close to two decades now.
