CHEMISOLUTIONS came from behind to outlast Sweet Crystal Sugar, 97-92, while AACI Trading notched win number two routing undermanned Huminova Tigers, 115, 86, in the ongoing Filsino All-Asian Countertrade Inc. 3rd conference inter-color basketball tournament at the Po hang Gym of Bacolod Tay Tung High School.
Chemisolutions played catchup most of the game and took the lead in the last 3 minutes on a Kenderson Hao triple, 86-84. Chemisolutions’ Arvin Chua’s 3 of 4 free throws gave Chemisolutions an 89-85 lead but Kib Montalbo and Bryant Lao’s free throws cut the lead to 1, Matthew Yap’s trey and Hao’s breakaway layup made it 94-88.

Montalbo’s breakaway layup and RJ Iligan’s floater sandwiched a Matthew Yap free throw to cut the lead anew at 95-92. Sidney Chua iced the game with 2 free throws with 22 seconds remaining. Hao delivered 12 points and Matthew Yap 8 points in the quarter.
The combination of Ronald Arabia and Kib Montalbo with 11 and 13 points, respectively, was unstoppable in the 1st quarter as Sweet Crystal erected an early 29-16 lead.
In the 2nd quarter it was the turn of Chemisolutions duo Kenderson Hao with 16 points and Johann Villanueva with 8 points which cut the lead to 55-51 even as Rey Pandoro had 14 points for Sweet Crystal.
The outside sniping of RJ Iligan with 6 points and Roger Montalbo with 4 points kept the lead for Sweet in the 3rd quarter at 71-66.
Arabia and Kib Montalbo with 5 points each were not enough to contain Chemi’s Hao and Yap with 14 and 8 points, respectively in the payoff quarter.
Kenderson Hao topscored with 28 points, Matthew Yap 12, Archie Co 11, Johann Villanueva 10 and Monroe Chua 7.
Kirrel Brandon Montalbo and Ronald Arabia led the losers with 20 points apiece, Rey Pandoro added 15, Jan Jan Young 11, RJ Iligan 10 and Roger Montalbo 8.
AACI Trading erased a 27-17 1st quarter deficit and used a crippling full court press that stymied the Tigers offense resulting to several turnovers and took a 50-42 lead. Richard Co and Michael Ang had 8 points each for the Tigers in the 1st quarter while Biboy Yap led the charge for Trading with 13 points and Jan Jan Lopue 6 points in the 2nd quarter.
The father and son tandem of John Montemayor and Mic Mic Montemayor with 9 and 8 points, respectively, led a balanced offense and a closing 10-0 run at the end of the 3rd quarter that gave AACI Trading an 82-67 advantage.
Biboy Yap finished with 23 points followed by John Montemayor with 21 points, Mic Mic Montemayor had 18, Frederick Ong 11 and Alex Chua and Jan Jan Lopue 10 points.
Michael Ang scored 23 points on 10 triples, Richard Co chipped in 21, Bol Manaloto 10 points, Omar Galunan 6 points.
