THE police stations of San Carlos City and EB Magalona topped the 2nd quarter performance evaluation rating (PER) of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Noppo) based on results released over the weekend.

Chief Inspector Rico Santotome, spokesman of Noppo, said the San Carlos City Police Station, headed by Superintendent Harold Tuzon, emerged number one in the city category with 86.48 percent. It was followed by Talisay City PNP (84.86 percent) and Kabankalan City PNP (83.41 percent).

Talisay City has Superintendent Thomas Joseph Martir as chief of police, while Superintendent Calixto Mabugat heads the Kabankalan City Police Station.

First quarter PER topnotcher Cadiz City PNP (82.28 percent) was relegated to the number six spot in the city police station category behind number 4 Escalante City (83.37 percent) headed by Chief Inspector Santiago Rapiz and number 5 Silay City (82.93 percent) with Superintendent Jerry Bartolome as chief.

In the municipal police station category, perennial topnotcher EB Magalona PNP, under the command of Chief Inspector Samuel Mina, emerged number one anew with an 82.02 percent rating followed by Hinigaran PNP (81.26 percent) headed by Senior Inspector Sonny Boy Bernus and the Manapla PNP (80.75 percent), under the supervision of Senior Inspector Jose Laboyo.

Meanwhile, the 612th Provincial Mobile Group (PMG), with Superintendent Roderick Augustus Alba as group director, topped the PMG category with a rating of 75.96 percent followed by 613th PMG (73.70 percent), 614th PMG (72.68 percent) and 611th PMG (72.10 percent).

Police units and stations in Negros Occidental are being rated quarterly with regard to their performance and accomplishments in the area of police-community relations, operations, intelligence, investigation, human resource, logistic and personnel.

This is to ensure that all the 31 police stations and the four PMGs not only comply with various directives from higher headquarters but also enhance the quality of police service in the province through impact projects and the like in making Negros Occidental a safe place to live.
