THE Bacolod City Council passed a resolution directing the City Engineer's Office or concerned agencies to clean the cemeteries at Burgos Street, Handumanan and Granada for November 1-2.
Councilor Catalino Alisbo, who noted that Bacolod is the sole caretaker of the city cemeteries, including their care, maintenance, preservation and protection, authored the proposed resolution.

Alisbo said it is a tradition of all Bacoleños to visit and pay homage to their departed loved ones every November.
He said "Bacolod City is a Christian urban city that celebrates the observance of the Christian celebration in memory of our departed loved ones."
Alisbo noted that "the families of the departed persons interred in said cemeteries pay appropriate burial permit fees to the city, which amount is intended to be used for the maintenance, care and protection of the graves of their loved ones."
