Condura drops Sharp; faces Sanyo in finals

CONDURA started slow but finished strong with a 97-85 triumph over Sharp in the semifinal of Joemarie Concepcion Cup of BUS Group on Monday at WNU covered court.

With the win, Condura will meet Sanyo in the best-of-3 final starting Friday says league commissioner Bing Soyao.

Edgar Basco, Melvin Baclay and Big Boy Alvarez combined for 21 points in the final quarter after making a comeback at 67-61 in the third.

Sharp led the first two quarters 47-41 but were out pointed 26-14 in the third as Abet Jarder scored 9 of his 11 points on power drives.

The undermanned TV Makers collapsed at crunch time, committing errors while Condura scored on transition points as they dominated both boards.

Alvarez had 22 points, Basco 14, Baclay 13, and Jarder 11 for the winners. Elbert Habaradas topscored with 24 for Sharp, while Johann Belandres added 22.

Bert Pabon scattered 19 and Felipe Sandoval chipped in 10 for the losers.

Wednesday's practice session of BUSG is shelved as the Huskies will cheer for its teammates in the semifinal round against BBC in the WNU Interbarkada tournament. (with reports from Henry G. Doble/SCOOP-Bacolod)
