THE dairy building located at Crossing Kanding, Barangay Camingawan, Kabankalan City is now 90 percent finished and may become operational this year.
The building is inside the five-hectare Animal Breeding and Genetic Improvement Center in a site donated by Negros State College of Agriculture. A joint project of the Kabankalan and provincial governments, the building is funded by the city at a cost of P2,076,481.

The building is just waiting for the installation of the milking machine and equipment. It will start with 40 to 60 heads of milking cow to be provided by the Provincial Veterinary Office headed by Dr. Renante Decena.
Three more buildings are expected to rise in the compound to house the swine and goat breeding laboratories and poultry.
Mayor Pedro Zayco Jr. said the center will benefit NSCA students who can observe close-hand the procedures and techniques in livestock production program. (Eddie Yap)
