The DOH said the number of cases is still above the epidemic threshold.
Although Negros Occidental recorded the highest number of cases from January to August 21, the DOH report said the attack rate in the province was lower at 13 percent. Bacolod City was second, with 29 percent attack rate, to Capiz that has 32 percent attack rate.
The Provincial Health Office (PHO) emphasizes that cleaning the surroundings is a must, as prevention is still the best way to avoid dengue. (Teresa Ellera-Dulla)
