Among the brands which the DTI is monitoring include Best Buy, Advance, Yasaka, Paperline, Merit, NBS Basics, Centurian, Top Line, and Veco.

Of these brands, she said would vary in prices on notebooks be it spiral, writing or composition type, for use of elementary level from grade 1 to 4. All must be in 80 to 90 leaves, she said, adding that the quality of the paper should be bond or econo-bond. Also included in their monitoring are the crayons and pencils.

She advised buyers to look for the brands with their respective reference price.

She hinted the possible overpricing by some commercial establishments taking advantage of the opening of classes in June.

She said standard retail price have been issued already. "It's out already for the establishments to be guided with their selling price."
