LISTENING to Senator Mar Roxas being interviewed by DZBB’s Mike Enriquez on GMA’s series of interviews with vice-presidential hopefuls, and reading about Liberal Party standard bearer Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III’s series of media bungles indeed makes one wonder whether the LP is not biting its finger nails blaming itself for not choosing the gentleman from Roxas City as its presidential bet in the May 10 polls instead.
For while Roxas clearly gives the impression of his complete grasp of issues facing the nation and his preparedness for leading the country given the opportunity, in contrast, Aquino’s almost daily dose of mishits which only displays his insensitivity and error-prone grasp of issues is almost mind boggling,

For instance, in his statement earlier this week in Catarman, Northern Samar, he reportedly told a press conference that “his family is the victim of oppression in the Hacienda Luisita issue because some people are using the plantation for political ends and they don’t care about the truth.”
How in the world someone who was born to rich and powerful parents and grew up owning a vast sugar plantation could be remotely considered a victim is truly unimaginable. For aren’t the agricultural workers in Luisita who earn P10 a day and whose loved ones have been killed fighting for land that had been promised to them for decades by three generations of the Cojuangco clan the true victims? What gives Aquino the right to claim victimization or oppression in the Luisita case? Just asking.
