A 40-YEAR-OLD farmer Joel Delgado died on the spot due to a fatal gunshot wound on the upper portion of his chest, a police report said.

A resident of Purok Gemilina, Barangay Tabugon in Kabankalan City was declared dead on arrival when brought to the hospital for treatment, said Kabankalan City police chief Superintendent Calixto Mabugat, adding that Benjamin Cabaluna, now detained at the police lock-up cell was responsible for Delgado's instantaneous death.

A murder case will be filed against Cabaluna, said Mabugat.

Cabaluna, 59, was arrested after several force multipliers and personnel from a military troop who was around near the crime scene and responded after hearing the firing shot.

Recovered was a .22 caliber gun from Cabaluna who reportedly have old grudges with Delgado.

Likewise, police investigations confirmed a previous altercation between the two warring persons using their firearms.
