Group holds voters' education

THE Workers Electoral Watch (WE Watch ) group held Wednesday a voters' education activity in the City of Bacolod.
Rodolfo Nales, Visayas Coordinator of WE Watch, said the group aims to help the voters in the province of Negros Occidental, where 80 percent are workers.

The WE Watch was launched last February 22, 2010 in Metro Manila. It’s a new non-partisan group formed by the Economical Institute for Labor Education with the support of the European Union and the Computer Professional Union.
Nales said they would conduct poll watchers' training and voters' education in different establishments in the City of Bacolod and the province of Negros Occidental that would include banks, Central Negros Electric Cooperative Inc. and Bacolod City Water District, among others.
Nales emphasized that they were formed to monitor the votes for a fraud-free elections.
Rey Bahague, national coordinator of Computer Professional Union, said they joined WE Watch to help organize the system for voter’s education and the poll watch on the day of elections.
Bahague said that since it’s an automated election, "the entire voter’s should be aware on the use of the new machines set by the Commission on Election.” (Merlinda A. Pedrosa)
