THE Samahang Magdalo (SM) said the growing clamor awaits Marine head Gary Alejano's reply to run for Sipalay City Mayor in the 2010 elections.
A native of Sipalay City in the south portion of Negros Occidental, Alejano said in the group's official website that he "feels no remorse over his participation in the Oakwood mutiny" which led to his dismissal from the military service.

He said he was fully aware of the consequences of his actions. "I feel no remorse for what I did. I wanted a change in the system of government."
Charged for rebellion, Alejano is currently out on bail; though he was not yet cleared of said cases filed against him and several Magdalo officers. Said raps are with regard the infamous Oakwood mutiny in 2003 and the Manila Peninsula tension in 2007.
Negrense Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief Lt. Gen. Victor Ibrado previously said he welcomes the formation of a political party by the Magdalo leaders. "This is a democratic country, everybody can exercise his political rights."
SM, though not yet confirmed, also had thoughts of running under the partylist system of the country.
