THE country was preparing for the State of the Nation Address (Sona) of President Aquino yesterday (Monday), which started at 4 p.m. I do not know what he will tell the Congress. I believe that he will be delivering the real state of the country after a great storm and deluge by the Arroyo administration.
I pity the President for being too honest and transparent in everything. In just a matter of a month in the Presidential seat, he now comes out with his assessment of the nation. His close allies are surely the ones that are nervous.
Updates on President Benigno Aquino III's presidency
This will either end or continue the honeymoon stage of the Arroyo administration. When one is really critical, one could understand that a month in the office cannot be sufficient in assessing the country. Most likely, Noynoy will be delivering the economic and political state of the country.
GMA did her part in the many Sonas that he made. She delivered promises and reports that were either comical or fantastical. She was so theatrical in her reports that it was not focused on the real issue of the country. She was more on the false and fairy tale stories. In fact, she always would like a princess or a beast in a fairy tale.
At this point all the eyes and ears were at the television coverage of the first ever Sona. P.Noy was really honest and sincere in what he delivered to the Congress. He was really in for something. My congratulations for his strong will to really put justice to the Arroyo administration. I pray that he would really ask his men to pursue the prosecution of those who made our lives miserable.
However, it is very disheartening that P.Noy did not talk about the state of agrarian reform and the state of GMA’s chacha. I wish to really hear his stand on these issues because these really affect the lives of the simple Filipino.
His realistic talk on the billions of pesos that were corrupted by the government agency under the arroyo administration was very laudable. It seems that I wanted to go down the chair as I listen to the millions and billions that were stolen by corrupt Arroyo cohorts. I and the rest of the people want to see these people behind bars. These are the people who made our lives miserable.
On the other side, I applause our new president for his acknowledgement of the rebels as a new sector in the society. He legitimized and recognized the presence of the radicals in the society. With this recognition, he gives the rebels a dignity fit to every Filipino. His question to the rebels was a legitimate question that every rebel should consider his stand. However, the rebels could also ask Noynoy if he is ready for a genuine land reform. If his answer is no, then the war continues.
The media was also a part of his speech as the fourth estate. He asked the media to cooperate and do their share in the development of the country.
On e more notable thing about the Sona was that Noynoy was applauded only 32 times while GMA received an average of 80 to 90 applauses in her past Sona.
So, now I pray that Noynoy and his dogs will be out to put the culprits in jail. May the force be with them.
St. Ezekiel Moreno, Sir Lopez and Pope John Paul II pray for us.
