Legaspi: TI?

“TI” IS a Hiligaynon conclusive conjunction meaning “therefore” or “so”. Usually, the speaker expects a conclusion or a conclusive answer. Most often this two-letter word becomes an interrogative sentence.

In the Sona of President Noynoy, one would ask the same question, “Ti?” the simple Filipino waits for more answers and actions from the Aquino administration. One is suspended on air because there is a sense of “bitin” or hangingness in the speech of Noynoy.

“Juan” is now so glad that the administration means business in fighting graft and corruption. One is now filled with the hope that more government offices will be transparent for fear of being exposed. SSS, PAG-IBIG, NAPOCOR, GSIS, PNP, PDEA, BIR, DOH,PAGCOR, DAR, DA and many more offices which have been missed in the SONA will surely be the next target of the NOynoy admin. I would like to hear that these offices be really investigated.

After that shocking news of Government owned companies and corporations having feasted on the peoples’ money, one is confronted with the question on what will this government do to the culprits? Will the actions be limited only to papers and exposes? Will the people again face blank wall and the culprits could ran away with the peoples’ money? All these questions are playing in the mind of the ordinary persons.

Ti, where shall we go from here?

I wish that the administration will really jail those who have malversed the people’s money. Noynoy should make true his statements or he will suffer the consequences of empty promises. His expose on the MWSS corruption should be taken hard and the people should answer to the people’s queries. Many should be incarcerated and many should answer to the people of the graft and corrupt acts.

Most of all, the mother of all anomalies, GMA, should be made to answer. She should be the main focus of the Davide Commission. All investigations should bring Gloria and her men down. Her absence in the opening of Congress should be questioned. Is she evading the real issue? Is she afraid of something?

The anomalies in the estates of the Arroyo sons should also be investigated. The administration should not only focus on the parents but also put all investigations in the former first family. They should be made to answer all the miseries we after facing today.

A sector, including my daughter, asked why Noynoy did not speak about the land reform problem. Why was he silent at this issue? He should have talked about the corruption done by agrarian officers. Corruption from fertilizer to support services should have been questioned. My daughter farther queried that if NOynoy would do something about the sugar industry. All I could tell her that I do not know and nobody knows.

After a month in a dying government does not give Noynoy all the answers to the questions. I pray that when he delivers the 100 days report, he will already have concrete steps on the prosecution of the culprits on the killing of the Philippine economy.

May Noynoy have the courage to continue and pursue all legal battles against the dogs of GMA.
