IT WAS indeed a fun moment when around 41 big biker members and support group of Thunderbugs Motorcycle Club attended the 18th Annual Convention of the National Federation of Motorcycle Clubs of the Philippines.
The Federation is the umbrella organization of lawfully registered motorcycle clubs of big bikers down south as far as Davao and Basilan, the Visayas islands and up to the farthest north of this country.
Almost two thousand biker delegates registered joined the confab not to count their family members who joined the Clark escapade. Could you imagine watching more than a thousand big bikes (that’s 400 cc and up vrooooming along the roads and highways?
And the Thunderbugs arrived Manila spending a night in the hotel then drove their big bikes for lunch to Subic and later drove back to Clark Freeport Zone to rest in their respective hotel villas at Clark Fontana. Of course, the club brought their two back-up trucks on board the inter-island vessel with their big bikes to ensure that they have a place for their luggage and snacks and some fun drinks to enjoy.
Thunderbugs Chairman Manolet Lamata and Club President Bingbong Escamilla led the Club as 2013 Convention Chairman Lito Aves prepared to tell everyone that things will spell a difference when Bacolod will be the venue next year and hosted by the Thunderbugs.
All in summary, the club members and spouses present were just as glad to be part of the convention and they enjoyed the travel fun that they just could not stop themselves driving up Baguio City after the confab with all might despite the rains that fell on them while driving. That’s the FUN when you are with Thunderbugs. It’s their passion for big bike driving.
