THE klieg lights are on. The audience’s chants are deafening, muffling the strong heartbeats of the contestants. And the booming and excited voice of the emcee exclaims: “And this year’s Ms. UNOR is………”
The stage is one familiar place for her. She had performed her dances and speeches on it since her pre-school days. She had done emceeing and dancing since kinder up to her secondary high. No wonder why when asked to represent her college, beauteous and brainy Korina did not have any qualms in being one of the contestants for the Search for Ms. UNOR 2012.
Korina’s positive outlook in life made her enjoy the rehearsals. And much as she takes pleasure in the loving and warm company of her very supportive mom, Rodnel, and her three siblings – her Manong Tata, Manang Yan and JM - Korina also delights in the friendship of her fellow beauty contestants.
So how did Korina balance her time as a third year Pharmacy student between her studies and her pageant practices?
Time management and knowing her priorities are two of Korina’s best qualities. Moreover, her faith in God, the love of her family and friends, the support of her Pharmacy classmates and teachers and the encouragement of Korina’s College of Arts and Sciences community made her achieve her winning moment.
Why Pharmacy? Because this stunning beauty wanted to be a doctor ever since her kinder years. And true to her title, Korina is not only a charm but a brainy lady as well. Yet, her being a scholar is just one of the many pressures which this young lady handles with grace.
Enjoying her youth and having fun while working her way up to the night of the pageant are the precious nuggets of wisdom which Korina learned as one of the contestants in the search for Ms. UNOR 2012.
And true enough, this vivacious and attractive Bacoleña did cast her magical charm and wit on the judges and the audience on that fateful night of the pageant.
“And this Ms. UNOR 2012 is….Contestant No. 4!”
“Make way for Korina Marie Gardose Gialogo!”
Congratulations, Korina Marie. You indeed make your God, your Pharmacy Dept. and College of Arts & Sciences families and friends proud of you. God bless.
