Time to PAWS for a While

LIFE can be truly hectic, with tons of workload at the office and the endless chores to do at home.
Once in a while we need to take a breather. For me, periods of relaxation are spent going to garden shows, mall shows and dog shows.
One such dog show that I watched lately was the 1st Fun Match All Breed Dog Show and Obedience Competition conducted by the PAWS for a While dog owners’ club at the New Government Center last December 16, 2012.
The first dog I noticed was a huge German Shepherd which turned out to be one of the pet dogs of PAWS for a While founder Mr. Eduardo “Nonoy” Tan.
Quintin is a male German Shepherd who could intimidate a burglar by his size and fearsome appearance. An interesting trivia is that the German Shepherd line was originally developed for herding and guarding sheep against preying wolves from which dogs are said to have evolved some 100,000 years ago.
There were around eighty dogs which were registered at the dog show by their owners. Judge for the Best of Breed was Mr. Mario Cuevas while the Obedience Trial Judge was Mr. Donnie Poblador.
PAWS for a While is presently headed by Mr. Francis Deocades, owner of a Belgian Malinois, Japanese Spitz and other dogs of mixed breed. The other elected officers are Valentine Jamelo, Vice-President; Yoan Ponse, Secretary; Beda Tumbos, Treasurer; Eduardo Nonoy Tan, Auditor; and Jojo Jareno, PIO.
Regular club meetings are set every Monday at the Driveway Good Food of Mr. Nonoy Tan in Doña Juliana Subdivision at 8 o’clock in the morning.
