TWENTY-TWO visual artists from Bacolod participated in the Art in the Park held at the Jaime Velasquez Park, Salcedo Village in Makati last Sunday, March 23.
Art in the Park is a fund-raising event for the Museum Foundation of the Philippines. It is co-organized by Museum Foundation of the Philippines and Philippine Art Events, Inc. (PAEI).
PAEI chairman Patricia Maria Lopa invited Gallery Orange to be one of the participating galleries, says gallery manager Carmel Hibaler.
Gallery Orange selected 22 artists to join the one-day Art in the Park. Together, they exhibited 32 artworks.
Of the delegation, eight were able to attend the exhibit, held from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., namely Cindy Ballesteros, Junjun Montelibano, Rhoderick Tijing, Hilario Campos III, Guenivere Decena, Joe Geraldo, Gallery Orange owner and artist Charlie Co, and Hibaler.
The event, featuring artists from 60 galleries, served as a venue for the artists to interact with art patrons and promote their artworks.
Aside from being able to raise funds for their future projects, Hibaler said the Gallery Orange artists promoted Bacolod through their artworks.
Prior to the Art in the Park exhibit, Gallery Orange staged Happy Trip, its fund-raising exhibit to bring the artists to the Art in the Park. (Ana Patricia Talam)
