WITH 2GO Travel's newest ship, M/V St. Francis Xavier (SFX), sailing is a cruise-like experience. 2GO Travel vice president Stephen Tagud says that while the company's affordable and safety-focused travel is foremost in their thrust, they also envision a cruise-like experience for its passengers.

Thus, 2GO's fleet has been refurbished to become domestic cruise ships -- a breakthrough in the local shipping industry.

Consistent with its "Sarap Maglakbay" slogan, SFX has comfortable cabins and accommodations with beautiful interiors designed by One Urban.

The ship also has spacious economy and first-class restaurants, a relaxing spa, a 24-hour convenience store, fun karaoke and event halls for various forms of entertainment held nightly, a conference room and an open air deck where guests can converge for island sight-seeing and stargazing.

SFX is the third vessel of 2GO Travel, the biggest shipping company in the country. It was unveiled at the BREDCO Port in Bacolod two weeks ago.

It was released in time for the summer season to serve passengers from Bacolod, Iloilo, Dumaguete and Zamboanga.

The 11,000-toner and 151-meter long SFX has a 1,910-passenger capacity.

SFX serves the following routes: Every Wednesday-from Manila to Bacolod to Iloilo to Manila; and every Saturday-from Manila to Cebu - Dumaguete - Zamboanga - Dumaguete - Manila.

The other two vessels of 2GO are M/V Joan of Arc and M/V St. Michael.

The three 2GO vessels serve Bacolod Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
