COLOR Manila Nite Run, the country’s premiere night run event, will illuminate the streets of Bacolod on June 28.

The event is in partnership with the city government of Bacolod, Run Club, R.O.X., SM City and Headrush Productions.

Established in Manila in February last year, Nite Run gathered more than 6,000 runners and illumined Bonifacio Global City with their neon sticks and glow-in-the-dark apparel.

This time, the hype comes to Bacolod that will surely attract runners of all ages.

“This is the first and official night run in Bacolod with an after- party,” said Franklin Echevarria, organizer of Color Manila Nite Run.

Echevarria, a sports performance and triathlon coach, also spearheaded Color Manila Nite Run Cebu, the first provincial leg of the event last May 18, which drew some 3,000 runners.

The night run will also touchdown on other provinces including Iloilo, Cagayan de Oro and Davao following Bacolod, Echevarria added.

The team’s target for the Bacolod leg is around 2,000 participants, but Echevarria is positive that they will exceed the number during the event.

“It’s all about having fun and there’s no first or last. We’re here to display the city’s love for running and our passion to try something new,” he said.

Assembly time will start at around 9 p.m. and gun starts at 9:50 p.m. Distances are at 3KM, 5KM and 10KM, all of which will be southward bound.

Meanwhile, the Color Manila Nite Out “Paint After-Party” will indulge both participants and night owls alike and will be situated at the southwing Activity Center of SM City Bacolod.

Headrush founder Ryan Saez also complemented Echevarria’s good vibes with his own twist to the flamboyant occasion.

“Expect more colors, more beats and a one of a kind experience,” said Saez.

The after-party will feature celebrity DJ Tom Taus alongside local talents DJ Melvin, Kyla Diamante, Justin Lacson and DJ Reebok.

Kiosks and an Oil Lounge Bar will provide the basics, while Bacolod’s version of the “Blue Man Group” will deliver the added thump. (PR)
