THE night was colorful and full of fun when Color Manila Nite Run invaded Bacolod last June. The main streets of Bacolod saw various colors from all angles when runners illuminated the night run’s routes with glow-in-the-dark apparel and other personal neon effects and accessories.

Organized by Headrush Productions headed by Ryan Anthony Saez, Color Manila Nite Run started at SM City Bacolod southwing vacant lot at 9 p.m. and lit the major streets of the city.

Color Manila Nite Run is an evening marathon. Instead of the usual early morning races, the event gathers runners in the evening.

It was established in Manila last year. The event quickly garnered a following for its fitness objectives that incorporated a colorful hype that proves to be fun and very entertaining to participants and onlookers.

In joining the Fun Run, I was initially afraid that my T-shirt will be painted with colors so I opted to wear my old Versace black shirt so I wouldn’t care if they will paint my shirt.

When I arrived at the event area with my good friend Jay Amarante of Icon Photography, I was greeted by Ryan and he brought us to the VIP Area.

The Fun Run was attended by nearly 2,000 sport aficionados, health buffs and partygoers.

Registered runners of all ages joined the three categories: 3K, 5K and 10K.

Before the Fun Run, a Z-Dance Fitness Marathon with celebrity dance instructress Regine Tolentino was held in the same venue at 5 p.m.

After the Fun Run, participants came back to the venue for the Nite Run After-Party with celebrity DJ Tommy T (the former child star Tom Taus).

DJ Tommy T was a crowd favorite and he made the crowd go crazy with his classy electronic modern music.

I was awed by their energy and vigor as they can still afford to party after the Fun Run.

It was hilarious that so many partygoers were ready to paint, and be painted by, their friends and strangers.

The crowd enjoyed the colorful extinguisher sprayed to make the party more colorful and fun.

Meanwhile, Headrush is now busy preparing for the one of the biggest parties of the 2014 MassKara Festival—the MassKara Love Dance Festival on October 17 at the Central District Football Field in Mandalagan. If the event is organized by Headrush, expect it to be a hit.
