BACOLOD City Police Office (BCPO) Director Ricardo De la Paz on Tuesday directed the BCPO Intelligence Branch to intensify its monitoring on alleged human organ trafficking in Negros Occidental.

Dela Paz issued the order after text messages circulated in the city that the operations of alleged human organ traffickers in Metro Manila have now reached Negros Occidental.

He clarified thought that, contrary to media reports, he did not receive any reports of human organ trafficking in Negros Occidental.

De la Paz added that all police stations chiefs in Bacolod were also reminded to be vigilant within their area of responsibility against possible kidnapping incidents.

It was earlier reported that there was an attempted abduction of a 15-year-old boy in Kabankalan City but the minor managed to escape from the abductors. The abducted minors are being reportedly killed and their internal organs are reportedly removed and sold by the syndicate involved in human organ trafficking.

De la Paz stressed that they will not discount the possibility that the said report may be true.

“It is better that we’re prepared, if the said reports are true,” he said.

Meanwhile, Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) Director Senior Supt. Allan Guisihan also said that he had not received any reports of human organ trafficking in Negros Occidental. He also stated that there were no kidnapping for ransom incidents yet in the province.
