Man shot dead in fiesta

A MAN was killed after he was shot Thursday evening while attending the annual fiesta at Purok GK Village, Barangay Cabug, Bacolod City.
Station 9 commander Senior Insp. Jeffrey Attunaga identified the victim as Robinson Galanza, 41, of Purok GK Village, Barangay Cabug, Bacolod who was declared dead on arrival Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital.
Attunaga said Galanza sustained a gunshot wound in his chest after he was shot allegedly by Salvino Managon, 59, of said barangay.
Initial investigation showed that at about 10PM, the suspect was standing at the entrance of the dance arena at the public plaza, allegedly waiting for his two targets.
When Galanza met Managon, a short argument occurred and Galanza was shot by the suspect with the use of improvised shotgun or sulpak.
Attunaga added that after the incident, Andrew Carbos, a friend of both the victim and the suspect, approached the suspect who voluntarily surrendered the firearm.
Attunaga said Carbos immediately surrendered the firearm to the police while the suspect managed to escape. Station 9 is still conducting manhunt operation for the arrest of the suspect.
