WHILE the City of Bacolod celebrated the 113th Philippine Independence Day on Sunday, thieves also struck in different areas of Bacolod to take advantage of the activity and victimize the participants.
Dominus Mangubat, 32, of Purok Kabugwason, Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City reported to Station 1 that around 2 p.m. while he was waiting for his companion at Rizal-Lacson Streets, an unidentified person bumped him.
He added that, when he was about to fall in line in the parade, he noticed that his wallet which contained IDs, ATM cards and P1,000 cash was already missing. Mangubat believes that the unidentified person who bumped him took his wallet.
Meanwhile, Emilie Guarte, 40, of Barangay Banago, Bacolod also reported to Station 1 that while she was roaming in one of the shoes centers along Gatuslao Street, she discovered that her wallet which contained IDs, ATM cards and P6,000 cash was also missing.
Guarte believes that while she was inside the shoe store, she didn't notice that she was already victimized by pickpockets.
