Monday, July 18, 2011
THE nationwide Ombudsman Caravan of Social Services will visit Kabankalan City on August 4 and 5 and Sagay City on September 8 and 9.
More than 30 government agencies will be tapped to render public assistance and medical missions in these cities, Deputy Ombudsman for the Visayas Pelagio Apostol said in his letter to Governor Alfredo Maranon Jr.

Associate Graft Investigation Officers Evangeline Nunal and Maria Luvilla Gauranca met with Maranon and several Capitol department heads for a project presentation at the Provincial Capitol last July 12.
Nunal and Gauranca said beneficiaries in southern and northern Negros can avail of the services of government agencies like the Professional Regulations Commission, Land Transportation Office, Government Service Insurance System and Bureau of Internal Revenue.
They could save money and time in this caravan, as they do not have to go to Bacolod or Iloilo cities where the regional offices of these government agencies usually are, they said.
A group of doctors and health workers will also conduct medical-dental activity during the caravan, they added.
The Ombudsman Caravan in Negros Occidental is in partnership with the provincial government, the local governments of Sagay and Kabankalan, and the Diocese of Kabankalan, they added.
The Office of the Ombudsman had conducted the same caravan in Antique, Iloilo, Aklan and Capiz in the past years, Apostol said.*(TED)
