ELEVEN commercial sex workers were arrested by operatives of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) Stations 2 and 8 at the Goldenfield Commercial Complex, Barangay Singcang-Airport, Bacolod and Reclamation Area.
BCPO deputy commander Supt. Santiago Rapiz, head of Night Watch operation, said the arrested commercial sex workers were brought to the Bacolod City Health to determine if they are positive of sexually transmitted diseases.
Of the 11 arrested persons, four of them were positive of sexually transmitted diseases (STD).
Rapiz noted that they also explained to the arrested sex workers the operations of BCPO in order to eradicate the spread of STD in the city. He said that out of 57 commercial sex workers arrested last week, 47 of them were positive of STD.
He said BCPO’s operations against sex workers will continue to keep them away from the streets and beer houses, citing that they will face the charges for violation of Article 202, of Revised Penal Code, or the law against vagrancy and prostitution.
Rapiz in the meantime also said the business establishments were also reminded not to sell intoxicating liquor to minors.
He said the business permit of the business establishments that will be caught selling intoxicating liquor to the minor will be revoked.
