FOUR officers from the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Noppo) were promoted to the rank of superintendent effective June 30.
Police Chief Inspector Rico Santotome Jr, spokesman of the Philippine National Police in the province, said promoted were San Carlos City PNP deputy chief Police Chief Inspector Victorino Romanillos (PNPA '95), Bago City Police Station chief Police Chief Inspector Simeon Gane (PNPA '97), Police Chief Inspector Samuel Mina Jr. (PNPA '97) and Talisay City PNP chief Police Chief Inspector Noel Mana-ay.
Santotome said that seven other officers from the Negros Occidental PNP were promoted to the next higher rank as contained in Special Orders No. 1084, 1090, 1065, 1093 and 1078 issued by the PNP just this month.
They were Police Chief Inspectors Gil Flores (Noppo), Gabriel Gutierrez (Sagay City PNP) and Sonny Boy Bernus (Calatrava Police Station) as well as NOPPO's Reina Protacio (Admin) and Pontevedra PNP's Vanessa Gayle Dura-Sonoy, both from the Philippine National Police Academy Class of 2008.
A total of 180 non-commissioned officers from Noppo, adjudged as the 2010 Best Police Provincial Office in Western Visayas by Police Regional Office 6, were likewise promoted effective June 30 led by newly-promoted Inspectors Edgar Catoto of NOPPO-PIAS and Cadiz City PNP's Ronaldo Jumayao, added Santotome.
The promoted Noppo personnel will have their ceremonial pinning of rank insignias today in simple ceremonies at Camp Alfredo Montelibano to be supervised by Police Superintendents Leo Erwin Agpangan (deputy for admin), Remus Zacharias Canieso (deputy for operation), Roderick Augustus Alba (chief of staff) and David Cachumbo Jr. (admin officer) together with the respective spouses of those promoted.
