PROVINCIAL administrator Enrique Pinongan said the construction of the P450-million worth Negros First Cyber Park at the Paglaum Sports Complex in Bacolod City will start this year.

He said that after the approval of the Provincial Board (PB) giving Governor Alfredo Maranon Jr. the authority to avail of the P450-million loan for the park, the governor will sign a loan agreement with the Development Bank of the Philippines (BDP) and endorse it back to the PB for approval.

"After this procedure, the bidding for the construction of the building will immediately start," he said.

The administrator also said that with the PB’s approval of the loan, the Provincial Government will proceed with its plan to offer the spaces at the cyber park for lease after the completion of its construction.

Capitol projects to earn P60 million per year for the rentals of commercial spaces and IT park.

The three-storey Negros First Cyber Park will have commercial spaces at the ground floor and the cyber park or call center at the second floor, while the third floor will have spaces for dormitories.

The provincial officials decided to build the cyber park because it could earn more rather than offer raw lands to interested investors. (TED)
