MEMBERS of the Social Security System (SSS) now have five ways to connect and inquire on their status without personally going to the SSS offices.
SSS officials said members can inquire through their website, call center, text and e-mail.
The officials said these electronic procedures have decongested about 40 percent of the members who are trooping to the SSS offices.
Mario Sibucao, vice president of SSS Member Service Division, said members will only have to log on at their official website, www.sss.gov.ph, for their records, downloading of forms, setting appointments with their branches, salary loan application and other transactions.
For inquiries on contributions, loan status and balance, eligibility requirements, claims status and about the nearest branch of SSS, Sibucao said members will only have to text SSS to 2600 or e-mail at email@example.com.
They are also at Facebook, Sibucao added.
SSS, which operates as a social insurance, has 27 million members nationwide.
Meanwhile, lawyer Eddie Jara, senior vice president of SSS Visayas-Mindanao group, assured members the company is now in a stable financial status that could operate until year 2039. (TED)
