A MURDER charge was filed Wednesday against an alleged member of the Revolutionary Proletarian Army-Alex Bongcayao Brigade (RPAA-ABB) for allegedly shooting to death a civilian at the Old Provincial Hospital in Silay City.
The suspect was identified by Silay City police chief Rosauro Francisco as Felipe Magbanua Jr., 27, married, a resident of Had. San Rafael, Barangay Guimbala-on, Silay City, and an alleged member of RPA-ABB.
Based on the spot report forwarded by the Silay City police to the Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office, security guard Jonathan Apsay, who was detailed at the Old Provincial Hospital, informed the Silay City police station around 10:50 p.m. that there was a shooting incident at his area of responsibility.
The victim, who was hit at the left leg, was identified as Lauro Ledesma, 53, married and a resident of Elena Subdivision, Barangay V, Silay City.
The victim was immediately brought to Teresita L. Jalandoni Provincial Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.
Recovered from the suspect, who was arrested by the Silay police, is an Ingram machine pistol and a magazine with six live ammunition. Also recovered from the crime scene were three empty shells of caliber 9MM pistol.
The suspect was detained at the police station for further investigation and proper disposition. (TED)
