THE cadaver of a security guard believed to have been killed by suspected robbers was recovered inside the stockroom of La Purisima Building at the corner of Locsin-Cuadra Sts., Bacolod City, last Saturday.
The victim was identified as Marlou Jomoles, 42 of Barangay Mabini, Cadiz City.
Eric Magbanua of Aksyon Radyo reported that police investigation showed Jomoles’s body was already in an advanced state of decomposition when retrieved inside the stockroom.
The victim was believed to have been killed early in the morning last December 1 when suspected robbers entered the building and robbed the office of Mr. Donut. The robbers reportedly carted away P100,000.
They also attempted to open the vault of Rojas Agro Industrial Corporation office, which is located at the second floor of the building. The suspects further broke into a restaurant owned by a certain Angel.
Last December 2, some tenants noticed some bloodstains at the female comfort room of the building. The police made a search where the bloodstains came.
After the reported robbery in December 1, the security guard on duty could no longer be found, leading the police to initially suspect that he had something to do with the robbery.
The body of Jomoles was recovered inside the stockroom after the tenants searched for the source of the foul odor. They thought the bad odor came from a rotten animal until they traced where the odor originated. Eventually, their search led them to the stockroom where they found the dead body of Jomoles.
The police believed that the robbery suspects killed the security guard who may have identified them.
Jomoles’s body now lies in the state at Alisbo Funeral Parlor. It will be subjected to an autopsy to determine the real cause of his death.
