BACOLOD City Representative Anthony Golez assured Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) Director Senior Supt. Ricardo De la Paz Friday that he is willing to help the police office finish the construction of its new building.

Golez said they are waiting for the bidding to continue the construction of BCPO’s building, including the grounds and the concrete wall.

Golez inspected Friday the new building adjacent to the existing building of BCPO and identified the portion that needs to be developed.

The congressman claimed he also allocated funds to improve and upgrade BCPO’s capabilities in fighting crimes and in anti-terrorism activities.

The construction of new BCPO building cost at least P8-million and Golez had already given P2 million for its construction.

The city director expressed his gratitude for the support of Golez. De la Paz said they expect that within this year, they can transfer to the new building.

On the other hand, Golez said he is still hoping for the construction of the second fly-over in Bacolod City.

Golez said it only needs the cooperation of the people of Bacolod to push through with the construction of the second fly-over.

The first fly-over of Bacolod is located at the junction of Lacson Avenue and Lacson Circumferential Road and the second fly-over was earlier planned to be build at Magsaysay-Araneta Avenue.

Traffic Management Unit earlier claimed that the first fly-over at Lacson Avenue and Lacson Circumferential Road was also identified as crime prone areas and Golez said that it needs some improvements such street lights, sidewalk, and signages.
