Sketch of gunman in rob-slay released

THE National Bureau of Investigation released Tuesday the facial composite of the gunman who robbed and killed a lending company manager last Friday at Bangga RC-1, Araneta Street, Barangay Pahanocoy, Bacolod City.

Bacolod City police director Ricardo De la Paz described the suspect as medium built, brown skinned, between 25 and 30 years old, at least 5-foot-7 in height, decent-looking, and wears black jacket and black pants.

De la Paz said the suspect's facial composite is a big help in determining the identity of the gunman who robbed and killed Josie Genovea, 45, manager of ZFA Lending Corporation-La Carlota branch, and resident of NHA Housing, Barangay Pahanocoy.

Genovea sustained four gunshot wounds below her armpit, left hands and right arm, and an injury in the left portion of her face after she was shot by one of the suspects using .45 caliber pistol when she refused to give her shoulder bag.

De la Paz said the investigation revealed that the victim knows the identity of the gunman, prompting him to kill her after the robbery.

“The suspect has an intention to kill the victim,” he said.

He said the victim was already monitored by the suspect from La Carlota City going to Bacolod, noting that after she alighted from a double tire bus from La Carlota City, suddenly unidentified man grabbed her shoulder bag at Bangga RC-1, Araneta Street, Barangay Pahanocoy and was shot when she refused to give her shoulder bag.

After the victim was shot, two unidentified suspects riding in tandem on board a motorcycle fetched the gunman and fled, he added.

The city director also appealed to the public to coordinate with the BCPO for the possible information for the identity and location of the suspect who robbed and killed the lending company manager.

On the other hand, De la Paz reminded the business establishments, especially those engaged in cash transactions, to be vigilant and security conscious always to avoid untoward incidents.
