Mayor: Iggy was humble, gentleman
Monday, January 30, 2012
ON THE death of Negros Occidental Representative Ignacio “Iggy” Arroyo (5th district), Mayor Evelio Leonardia said the lawmaker remained humble even when he was still in power.
“I was saddened myself personally. No matter what your political affiliation or inclination is, Iggy was a congressman and a gentleman. He was somebody who had never displayed any ounce of arrogance, even at a time when they were in power.

He was always mild mannered, gentle in his ways and never pushed his weight. That is why we’re sad that a good man like him had to go that early. He will stay long if it’s not with his illness,” said Leonardia.
“We salute him as a public official and we take off our hat off to him in his attitude that he never abused his power despite the fact that they were in the height of their power and glory. Iggy had remained very humble,” he said. (CNC)
