THE regional office of the Philippine National Police declared that the reported presence of retired major general Jovito Palparan Jr. in San Carlos City is untrue.
Senior Superintendent Manuel Felix, deputy regional director for operations, said they have validated and verified reports about Palparan's presence in the province and it turned out to be negative.

A reward of one million in cold cash awaits anyone who can furnish the authorities with information that will lead to the capture of Palparan.
Palparan was charged with the kidnapping of University of the Philippines students Sherlyn Cadapan and Karen Empeño.
Felix pointed out that the police do not take for granted any information that would lead to the arrest of Palparan and that they are ready to effect the warrant of arrest against him.
The search against Palparan was conducted in the province after Fred Caña, spokesperson of the Karapatan human rights group, claimed recently that Palparan was sighted in a property owned by a politician in San Carlos City.
However, he did not divulge the identity of the said politician. (TED)
