7 arrested for illegal gambling

SEVEN were arrested in separate operations by Regional Special Operations Group, Stations 8 and 9 for illegal gambling in Bacolod City Friday.
The suspects were identified as Roperto Carlon, 67, of Purok San Roque, Barangay Tangub; Moises Gallinero, 24 and Almar Lariosa, 25, both residents of Barangay Pahanocoy, Vicente Arnado, 27, Peter Pasilan, 27, Ranny Lariosa, 34 and Leo Lariosa, 36, all residents of Barangay Sum-ag, Bacolod City.

Station 8 commander Police Inspector Jerrick Filosofo said Carlon, Gallinero and Lariosa were arrested at Purok San Roque at about 8 a.m. after they were caught in the act collecting bet money of jai alai.
Police recovered from them several tipsters with codename ‘Target’, betting stubs, ballpen, tally sheets and P187.00 as bet money.
Filosofo said the suspects are presently detained at the lock up cell of Station 8.
On the other hand, Station 9 commander Police Chief Inspector Placido Gentoleo said Arnado, Pasilan, Ranny and Leo were arrested after they were caught in the act playing “pusoy” at Barangay Sum-ag at about 2 p.m.
One set of playing cards and P112.00 as bet money were recovered from their possession, Gentoleo said.
He said the suspects are detained at the lock up cell of Station 9. (Merlinda A. Pedrosa)
