Bacolod police on heightened alert for Valentine’s Day

THE Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) is on heightened alert Tuesday to enhance police visibility in different areas of Bacolod for the Valentine’s Day celebration.
BCPO Director Ricardo De la Paz ordered Monday the station commanders to enhance police visibility in different restaurants, motels and hotels which are usually visited by lovers during Valentine’s Day.

Station commanders were directed to coordinate with the management of different businessmen establishments to secure the safety of public while the couples and lovers observe the Valentine’s Day celebration.
He said they will monitor the possible operation of the lawless elements who will take opportunity of said celebration.
The city director also advised the lovers to be vigilant and be security conscious while roaming in different areas of Bacolod to avoid snatching, theft and hold-up incidents.
De la Paz said they will also monitor the Bredco Port, Reclamation Area which was recently identified as ‘lover’s lane’ to avoid any untoward incidents in the area.
On the other hand, BCPO is also on heightened alert to secure the safety of Vice President Jejomar Binay, who will attend the mass wedding Tuesday at the New Government Center. (MAP)
