VICE President Jejomar Binay stood as one of the sponsors of the 755 couples who got married in the Valentine's Day mass wedding administered by Bacolod City Mayor Evelio R. Leonardia at the New Government Center Tuesday.
"It is your destiny to get married. Marriage requires courage. You have mustered enough courage to be one as couple," Binay said.

He advised the couples that marriage is not a bed of roses; there will be bad times and good times.
"If you have a misunderstanding, do not go to sleep without resolving it," he told them, adding that husbands should respect their wives and that couples should understand the character of their partners.
"There is no such thing as a perfect marriage, so we your godparents wish you all a successful marriage," he intoned.
Binay arrived Tuesday with his daughters Anne and Nancy to join the mass wedding, which reportedly registered the largest number of participants in a nationwide simultaneous activity sponsored by the Pag-IBIG Fund.
Binay said the Bacolod event has the largest number of couples he has ever witnessed in a mass wedding.
After the ceremony, Binay gave away P1,000 in cash to 10 lucky couples. He had to return to Manila to attend a reception for another mass wedding at the SM Mall of Asia.
