Construction worker killed, 2 injured in electrocution

A CONSTRUCTION worker died while two of his companions were injured Saturday afternoon after they were electrocuted when they accidentally tapped the wire of Ceneco at corner Cuadra-Gatuslao Streets, Bacolod City.
Station 1 commander Police Chief Inspector Adonis Rosales identified the fatality as Wilfredo Hubida, 36, of Tinampaan, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental. The injured were Edgar Casimillo, 46, of Barangay Borongan; and Nestor Perocho, 26, of Barangay Candionan, both in San Dioniso, Iloilo City.

Rosales said Hubida was declared dead on arrival in Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, while Casimillo and Perocho sustained injuries in different parts of their bodies.
The victims were working at the building of Philtrust Bank at corner Cuadra-Gatuslao Streets.
Investigation showed at about 1:30 p.m. the victims were working at the 4th floor and carrying an iron rod from the roof deck of the building but unfortunately the iron rod tapped the main wire of Ceneco and they were accidentally electrocuted, Rosales said.
He said Casimillo is presently in stable condition but Perocho is still under observation
Rosales said they are still conducting further investigation to determine if there was foul play in the incident. (Merlinda A. Pedrosa)
