The fun run started from the Capitol grounds up to Talisay City and back to the Provincial Capitol grounds as the start and finish points.
Jean Trebol, SSBAFI vice president and executive director, said the event was aimed to raise money for projects, principally the “Save a Life” project which helps children who are admitted in the hospital.
“We do surgery and we also support the children who are sick, especially those with heart disease,” she said.
The fun run was supported by Governor Alfredo G. Marañon Jr., 3rd District Representative Albee Benitez, 4th District Representative Jeffrey Ferrer, Murcia Mayor Andrew Montelibano, Belo Medical Group, Rite Med, Cherifer, ZO Skin Health, and others
“This is the first walk-run fund-raising. In the past, we would do raffle, we would have an evening with a concert artists and some years we just write sponsors and donors,” she said.
Trebol said that Belo Clinic, as one of the sponsors, sent celebrities Hayden Kho and Matteo Guidicelli to help the project.
They were also joined by 26th South East Asian Silver medalist (marathon) Eric Panique of Himamaylan City.
Trebol thanked the people who supported the event.
“We would like to thank all those who participated in this walk-run event. You’re going to make a lot of difference in the lives of the many of the indigent children who are in the hospital,” Trebol said.
