RPA-ABB to help arrest murder suspect

THE commander of the Revolutionary Proletarian Army-Alex Boncayao Brigade (RPA-ABB) said Monday the group will help police arrest a former RPA-ABB member who shot and killed two persons and injured eight others during a benefit dance at Hda. Kapitan Ramon, Silay City last Saturday.
Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Noppo) Director Allan Guisihan said RPA-ABB commander Carapali Lualhati assured police that they will assist the police to apprehend Ryan Layo, a resident of Hacienda San Rafael, Barangay Guimbalaon.

Layo was tagged as the gunman responsible for the killing of Richard Centina, 40, of Hacienda Cumabat, Barangay E. Lopez, Silay City and a certain Sonny Boy Tongcua, 41, of Sitio Mambukog, Talisay City.
Also injured in the crossfire were Mark Derbin Bacira, 16, of Barangay E.Lopez, Silay City; Clegerio Guardiano, 43, of Hacienda Lapus, Barangay Kapitan Ramon, Silay; Mark Guardiano, 16, of Hacienda Antonio, Barangay E.Lopez, Silay; Herman Dela Cruz, 42, Hacienda Cumabat, Barangay E. Lopez, Silay; Dalton Mayo, 18, of Hacienda Dolores, Barangay Guimbalaon, Silay; Marcelo Gonzalez, 44, Johnny Lima, 16; and Joel Mainge, 49.
Investigation showed that around 11:30 p.m. last Saturday, Centina and Layo had a heated argument at the benefit dance.
Both were armed with short handguns and started shooting at each other.
Other persons who were buying tickets to go inside the dance hall were caught in the crossfire.
Guisihan said Lualhati admitted that Layo was a former RPA-ABB member and that Lualhati appealed to the suspect to surrender to authorities.
Guisihan said the Silay police is still conducting manhunt operation against the suspect. (MAP)
