Groups ask space for land transportation office
Wednesday, February 22, 2012
PRESIDENTS of the Federation of Bacolod City Drivers Association (Febacda) and Action Inc. appealed to the Bacolod City Government to provide an office space for the land transportation at the City Hall or in any property the city could provide.
This came after the City Government’s plan to remove the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) out of the City Health Office compound at BBB Galo Street, Bacolod City.

In a letter signed by Febacda president Elizabeth Katalbas and Action Inc. chairman Teddy Macainan to Councilor Dindo Ramos dated February 21, 2012, they stated that the City Government’s plan to make LTFRB vacate its office at the City Health Compound, will force them to transfer to Iloilo City.
“In view of the aforementioned situation, we would like to request your office to provide them a space at the old City Hall or any property of the City Government, since they play a major role in the transport industry in the city,” the statement said.
“It would be advantageous for us operators in Bacolod City, as well in Negros Occidental if the operation of the LTFRB will be retained in the city. If its operation will be transferred to Iloilo, this will entail a lot of expenses for the stakeholders in the transport industry who have to travel to Iloilo to facilitate their documents,” the statement added.
