THE Bids and Awards Committee of the City Government of Bacolod has conducted bidding for the free school supplies and bags for the elementary and high school students in the city.
BAC chairman lawyer Goldwin Nifras said Sunrise Marketing was determined by BAC to post the lowest financial bid during the opening of bids Wednesday.
He said Sunrise Marketing presented a bid offer of P11.7 million, while they did not know how much were the bid offer of Hardy Marketing, the other bidder, because it was disqualified.
Hardy Marketing was disqualified in the eligibility requirement so BAC did not open its bid.
He said the approved budget for the contract is P11.8 million.
Nifras said the post-qualification may be conducted today, Thursday, and if the bidder is qualified, they will make a recommendation to the mayor to award the bid.
“We hope that the purchase order will be issued this week by the city so that if it is received by the winning bidder they can already deliver the items,” Nifras said.
The items include bags, notebooks, pencil, ruler and crayons for students from Grades 1 to 4, while the city will provide t-shirts for Grades 5 to 6. (Carla N. Canet)
