Woman hit by bus dies at hospital

A 56-YEAR-OLD woman died while being treated at the Bacolod Riverside Hospital after she was accidentally bumped by a First Farmer Holding Corporation service bus at Lacson Street, Mandalagan, Bacolod City on Friday.
Traffic Management Unit case investigator Senior Police Officer 1 June Garong identified the fatality as Ana Mely Reodica, 56, a dealer of beauty products and resident of Sta. Clara Subdivision, Bacolod.
Garong said that around 3 p.m., the victim was accidentally bumped by the bus while she was crossing from west to east of Lacson Street in front of Lopue's Mandalagan.
The bus was driver by Jose Sausing Jr., 45, a resident of Talisay City.
Sausing was travelling from south to north direction of Lacson Street, Mandalagan during the accident.
Garong said the victim was rushed to the Riverside Hospital but was declared dead around 7:11 p.m. Friday.
Franz Maypa, 32, cousin of Reodica, said the victim was about to go to the Our Lady of Mercy Hospital to get a birth certificate during the accident. He added they were shocked when they learned that she was hit by a bus.
Maypa said they are now preparing documents for the filing of charges against the bus driver.
Sausing also voluntarily surrendered to Police Station 3 and is now facing charges for homicide through reckless imprudence.
