Lawmaker admits marital problems

BACOLOD City lone district Representative Anthony Golez Jr. admitted Wednesday over the “Mercado Publico” program at DYRL that he and his wife Princess Soraya Jaafar have been experiencing marital problems for the past two years.
Golez said that just like any ordinary relationship, they too were not spared of marital problems.
They have not seen each other for a long time, according to the lawmaker.
He said his service to the people of Bacolod had created problems between him and his wife.
However, he said, “We would always want to fix our relationship for the sake of our child. The most important thing is that there is no trouble and my service to the people will not be derailed.”
Just over a month ago, Golez was linked to the separation of Senator Koko Pimentel and his Bacoleña beauty queen wife Jewel Mae Lobaton. Golez and the senator’s wife were frequently seen together in the implementation of joint projects since last year.
Pimentel issued an official statement last May, admitting his separation from his wife. National dailies linked Golez to the separation while Golez vehemently denied having anything to do with the break-up. (Carla N. Canet/Teresa D. Ellera)
