PCSO approves Bacolod satellite office

BACOLOD City Councilor Carl Lopez said the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) has approved the city’s request, embodied in a resolution which he authored, for putting up of a satellite office in Bacolod City.
"This would be a big help for those who would like to ask medical assistance, hospitalization and other follow-ups with the PCSO, as they would no longer need to go to Metro Manila or Iloilo for such purposes,” said Lopez.
Lopez said the approval was confirmed to him by PCSO chair Margarita Juico when he made a personal follow-up on the matter.
He said Juico committed to establish the satellite office in the city within this year.
The satellite office would be temporarily located at the Paglaum Sports Complex, he said.
Lopez said Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. has offered the place and that the Provincial Government has signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the PCSO to this effect.
Based on the MOA, the permanent office of the PCSO will be located in a Provincial Government property in Barangay 39, Bacolod City, Lopez said. (Teresa D. Ellera)
