Carnapping raps filed vs 5 suspects

CHARGES for violation of Republic Act 6539 or Anti-Carnapping Law were filed last week before the City Prosecutor’s Office against the five suspects for stealing a Mitsubishi Adventure vehicle in Bacolod last month.
Four of the suspects were intercepted at Cagayan de Oro City last month, Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) Director Ricardo De la Paz said Tuesday.
He identified the suspects as Veronica Veril Anderson alias Ruth Pabon, 40, a native of Buendia Street, Makati City; Lucila Lugatiman, 54, of Purok 6, Tambalan, Iligan City; Maribic Diaz Sanson, 47, of Calamab, Laguna; Lorna Ricaplaza Lugatiman, 42, of Pasay City; and Rainer Ortiz, of Tala Nueva Ecija, who is still at large.
Through the close coordination of BCPO, Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office and Highway Patrol Group, the suspects were intercepted at Cagayan de Oro City after they took the Mitsubishi Adventure vehicle with plate number FGY-339 in Bacolod City last month, De la Paz said.
He added the vehicle was recovered from the possession of the suspects during their apprehension.
The suspects are presently detained at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology in Barangay Handumanan. (MAP)
