City dad claims Alejandrino case won't prosper

BACOLOD City Councilor Caesar Distrito is confident that the case filed against him by Mrs. Melba Alejandrino, widow of the late Council Secretary Nilo Alejandrino, won't hold water in the Ombudsman.
He said that the fact that there is no immediate order to submit counter affidavit indicates that the Omudsman will still evaluate if there is sufficiency and substance and merit in the said case.
It is clear and evident that the case has no bearing and is dismissible, considering that the complainant has no personal knowledge of what really transpired, said Distrito who issued the statement in reaction to a report that the Ombudsman Visayas had acknowledged receipt of the complaints filed by Mrs. Alejandrino.
Deputy Ombudsman for the Visayas Pelagio Apostol and Elpidio Montecillo, Graft Investigation Officer 1 & Chief Administrative officer designate has informed Mrs. Alejandrino that they have received the complaints last May 3, 2012.
They have assigned the cases to an investigating officer who will act on these cases, the Ombudsman said.
The Ombudsman has required Mrs. Alejandrino to submit the needed documents in order to prevent delays in the proceeding and facilitate the evaluation/appreciation of the facts in the case within 10 days.
