Driver stabbed by city hall employee

A passenger jeepney driver was injured when he was stabbed by a member of the Bacolod City Legal Office Enforcement Team at Purok Lilang, Barangay Banago, Bacolod City Thursday evening, Station 3 commander P/SInsp. Conrado Rances III said yesterday.
Rances identified the victim as Rosalio Bertuldo, a native of Don Salvador Benedicto town, Negros Occidental.
Rances said at about 10 pm while the victim was driving his public utility jeepney, he was stabbed by his passenger Jose Troy Barquez, a member of CLO.
Bertuldo sustained a stab wound in left side of his body and was rushed to the Riverside Medical Center of medical treatment.
Rances added Barquez also sustained injuries in different parts of his body when he was mauled by Zandro Edem, Bertuldo’s nephew, who immediately responded in the area during the incident.
Barquez was also rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital for medical treatment.
Rances said they are still trying to determine the motive in the stabbing.
On the other hand, a dead body was found drowned in a river at Barangay Estefania, Bacolod Thursday afternoon, Station 4 commander P/SInsp. Dianne Aquitania said yesterday.
Aquitania identified the victim as Allan Pastrana, 41, of Villa Felicidad, Barangay Estefania.
Aquitania said at about 2:30 pm, they received a call from the family of the victim informing them that their brother was found drowned in a river near their house.
She said the family of the victim believed that their brother drowned when he suffered epilepsy while taking a bath in a river.
The family of the victim also believed that there was no foul play in said incident, Aquitania added./MAP
