Mentally ill teen gang-raped

A MENTALLY ILL teenager was allegedly gang-raped by unidentified suspects in Bacolod City Sunday morning.
Women and Children Complaints Desk (WCCD) head Police Inspector Jovy Cabcaban said Monday the 18-year-old victim, whose name is being withheld, was already advised to undergo medical examination to substantiate her charges.
Cabcaban said that the victim, who was observed to be mentally ill, was accompanied by her mother in reporting her ordeal to the WCCD at about 9 p.m. Sunday.
The victim was reportedly gang-raped by four unidentified suspects, one of whom is a tricycle driver, at a vacant lot in Bacolod.
Last Saturday evening, the victim was entrusted by her mother to their family friend in one of the barangays in Bacolod.
At about 11 p.m., the victim was told by her guardians to go to sleep but without their knowledge, the victim managed to go out. When she returned at about 2 a.m. Sunday, she was already naked and said that she was gang-raped.
She narrated that she was walking near a church when she was grabbed by one of the suspects, brought to a vacant lot at the back of the church and raped by four suspects.
Cabcaban said they are now waiting for the result of medical exam for the filing of charges against the suspects. (MAP)
